Dr Mannaerts, a double Dutch board certified Gastro-intestinal as well as Oncology surgeon, is the Chair of Surgery Department in Tawam Hospital (UAE). He is the director of the high volume bariatric center in Tawam Hospital, which has with 750 cases in 2017 done the highest annual number of cases in the Gulf region. Besides that he is the lead of the surgical oncology unit in Tawam Hospital. He is known from the international fast-track bariatric courses in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and is the lead investigator in multiple large randomised controlled trials, leading to over 70 Pubmed registered publications. He has performed a PhD on the multimodal treatment of locally advanced rectal and locally recurrent rectal cancer (ISBN 90-367-1418-4).

Dr Aftab A Bhatti graduated from the University of Punjab, Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan. He completed his higher urological training from the Northern Deanery, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Dr Aftab Bhatti has published over 40 peer reviewed publications and his area of research interest includes kidney and prostate cancer. the area of his interest includes active surveillance for the low risk prostate cancer, surgical anatomy of prostate, refinements to surgical techniques for robotic assisted radical prostatectomy and surgical outcomes of the high risk prostate cancer and prognostic markers for the kidney cancer.

Mahmoud is the Assistant Director of Nursing for Oncology, Medical, Surgical, Al Wagan Hospital, and Regional Blood Bank at Tawam Hospital (UAE). He graduated from the Makkassed National College of Nursing, Lebanon in 2001 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing and he completed his Master degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dubai (RCSI-Dubai) in June 2010. He is an Oncology Certified Nurse by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS, USA). Mahmoud chaired all the annual nursing sessions in the Emirates Oncology Conference from 2013 till today. He participated in a lot of activities to improve patient quality of care such as introducing the new appointment system in the oncology Clinic at Tawam Hospital (2010), introducing the new Medical Assessment & Planning Unit (MAPU) in 2017, End of life Outreach Nurse project (2017), Discharge project (2017-2018), Oncology Nurse Navigator program (2017) and Oncology Nurse Triage project (2018). He also work with oncology nursing team at Tawam hospital to conduct number of oncology nursing researches such as improving oral chemotherapy compliance in Oncology Clinic (2017), improving patient experience with Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), Tawam Experience (2017) and Assessing the Patient Education needs of Thalassemia Patients taking Iron chelating factors, Experience of Tawam hospital adult hematology/oncology department in the UAE (2018).

Dr Selvaraj Giridharan is a highly skilled and experienced oncologist with dual accreditation from the UK. He completed his Bachelor’s Medical degree from the University of Madras in 1993 and went on to continue his training in the UK, he became a member of Royal college of Physicians in 1998 and then achieved clinical oncology Fellowship in 2004. He worked as a consultant clinical oncologist in University Hospitals of North Midlands from 2004 to 2022 until his appointment to Tawam Hospitals in September this year. During his time in Stoke he held several additional roles including being services lead, audit lead, research lead, appraiser and clinical tutor. He has published extensively and has been a PI and SI for more than 30 clinical trials.

"Taif S. Al Sarraj, Ph.D., M.Sc., RD., is the Chief of Clinical Support Services for three major hospitals (Tawam, AlAin, and AlWagan hospitals) within the AlAin Region of the Emirate of Abu-Dhabi. Previously served as Deputy COO at Shaikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UAE University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr Taif Al Sarraj has 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare leadership, operation, and performance management. In addition to quality and patient safety, JCI accreditation, and disasters' incident commanding. On the other hand, she has experience in clinical researches, academic education, continues clinical education, national and international conferences organization and participation, health education and public health awareness and contribution through community out-reach activities, awareness lectures, and media interviews via national media programs. Dr Al Sarraj is a Fellow Candidate of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She had successfully led and manage the clinical support services as well as hospital operation activities throughout her leadership and rotation experience across SEHA hospitals. She participated in COVID-19 pandemic's disaster management, commissioning of MBZ field hospitals, and AD Covid-19 designated hospital. Dr Al Sarraj is the recipient of The Abu Dhabi Medical Distinguish Award (Department of Health - 2011); The SEHA Nursing & Allied Health leadership Award (SEHA in 2013); The Emirates Women Award (Dubai Quality Group in 2012), The UAE Rare Diseases Society Excellence Award (UAE Genetic Diseases Association 2017); The Shaikh Rashid Award for Academic Superiority (The UAE Culture & Scientific Association, twice in 2011 and 1997); Dr. Robert G. Jensen Award for Excellent Research in Nutritional Sciences (University of Connecticut 2009). In 2020, Dr. AlSarraj was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of Connecticut, College of AHNR, for her distinguished contributions to the Healthcare sector in UAE. Dr. AlSarraj excelled in clinical nutrition. Her research interests are in the area of pathophysiology of metabolic syndrome, and diabetes complications, glucose and lipid metabolism, inflammation markers and vascular complications.
